2020年韓國延世大學發表一項隨機雙盲對照臨床試驗,70名過重受試者隨機分成兩組,試驗組每餐前服用洋蔥、朝鮮薊、薑黃萃取物,對照組每餐前服用安慰劑,為期12週。結果觀察到試驗組別的降低了體脂肪,特別是腹部內臟脂肪,且血清中三酸甘油脂與C-peptide也顯著降低。
